Cornhole is a game similar in play to horseshoes. The biggest difference being it is played with two boards or platforms that have a six inch hole cut in the top third of the board. Each player or team gets four bean bags or corn bags with which they throw and score points. The game sounds simple enough and it really is. But, the hours of enjoyment for adults and kids alike is what is making this game so popular all over the country.
The history of the game of cornhole is not clear. Although, there is very little denying that the games recent rise in popularity started in the West side of Cincinnati, Ohio sometime around 1999 or 2000. The game has gradually spread out from it’s midwestern origins and has recently become popular not only in the U.S. but oversees in places like the U.K. as well. The reason is simple. It’s safe, fun, affordable, easy, and yet challenging all at the same time.
